HECON® was originally formed in 1964 as the U.S. subsidiary of the German firm Hengstler GmbH. In 1965, through acquisition of a Texas-based ticket printer firm, HECON® entered the printer arena and came to dominate the scale ticket printer market.

As ATMs came on the scene, HECON® printers were incorporated into their deposit and receipt systems. HECON® printers were part of the earliest ATMs, and banking remains an important part of our business today.

Gas pumps and kiosks are two other important markets for HECON® . About half of all new credit-card gas pumps shipped today incorporate a HECON® printer. And as the kiosk industry grows, so does our participation in the form of receipt and wide-format printers.

HECON® cutters are recognized world over as the most reliable cutters available. Used primarily where long life, robust construction and heavy paper capacity are needed, our cutters find application in bar code label printers, pari-mutuel systems, photo ID processing machinery, kiosks, and a variety of unattended operations.

Most HECON® printers and cutters are today manufactured at the Hengstler facility in Aldingen, Germany. Located at the edge of the Black Forest, Hengstler was first formed in 1864 to manufacture mechanical components. Hengstler’s industrial expertise spans over 150 years!

In 1995, HECON® , and their parent company Hengstler GmbH, became part of the Danaher Corporation, a Fortune 500 company and a member of the Standard & Poor’s 500 Industrial Index. With many billions of dollars in sale, Danaher’s support and implementation of the Danaher Business System has continued to spur HECON’s® continuous growth..
